The spotlight this week is on singers and musicians from Dublin--the city as well as the wider county. The list of musical Dubliners is long, but this week's program will definitely include instrumentalists like Mick O'Brien, Seamus Ennis, and The Chieftains, as well as singers like Frank Harte, John Doyle, Mary Black and her singing siblings, and of course, The Dubliners!

America's favorite Irish-American singer, Cathie Ryan, is featured this week in a concert recorded exclusively for Celtic Connections, at the 2008 Southern Illinois Irish Festival in Carbondale. She is backed by guitar player Patsy O'Brien and young fiddler Duncan Wickel.
  
08-47 11/20/08 Celtic Fiddle Festival
Since their first CD in 1993, the Celtic Fiddle Festival has released a total of 5 albums and has been a huge hit with audiences around the world. Founding members Kevin Burke and Christian Lemaitre represent Irish and Breton music, and they are currently joined by Andre Brunet who represents the French Canadian tradition, all backed by the guitar work of Ged Foley. This week's program features highlights from all 5 CDs, including their original member from Scotland, the late great Johnny Cunningham.
